Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, at mga Anak Blog Conference

I was privilege to be one the first to have first hand information that the Padilla clan will star in their first movie. Although Robin and Mariel Padilla are not available during the time, Rommel Padilla and the 2nd generation of Padillas: Matt, Kylie, Daniel and RJ were present to give us details about the movie, Sa Ngalan Ng Ama, Ng Ina, At Mga Anak.

The movie depicts the story of Kuratong Baleleng from another perspective. It is very timely that Pinoy action films are making a return to local cinemas. The movie is also part of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary and produced by Padilla's RCP Productions. Here's a trivia. Star Cinema's first movie was an action genre.
Padilla siblings(L-R): Daniel, Matt, Kylie and RJ

Kylie Padilla was so excited about the movie project. For RJ, it was a dream come true. For matinee idol Daniel Padilla, it was like a family reunion, bonding with his cousins despite his hectic schedule. Director Jon Villarin says the story and characters are based on a real life story. They started filming 2011.

Director Jon adds that this is not just an action movie, it is also a social drama. Kylie Padilla says that it is also a movie that deals with moral and ethical decisions. I got to ask the next generation of Padillas if they did their own stunts, the elder Padilla said, "Syempre, tatak Padilla yung gumawa ng sariling stunts. Pawis, dugo at pagod ang binigay namin lahat para mabuo ang movie na ito.

I asked them about their challenging stunts they made while shooting the movie. RJ shared that one scene require him to jump on lower ground and he just realized he had a knife on his pocket and it gave him minor cuts.

Daniel and Kylie shared that they endured stunts involving pyrotechnic special effect. Director Jon adds among the Padilla siblings, Kylie is the most likely to succeed in the action movies. Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak is produced by RCP productions and distributed and released by Star Cinema. The movie starts showing January 29, 2014.
