A group of 13-year old village youths in Italy are playing one afternoon when tragedy strikes. They find that, 30 years later, their past returns to haunt them. In spite of this, Chala’s sixth grade teacher Carmela, played by Alina Rodríguez, feels affection and respect for him. One day she becomes ill and musts give up teaching for several months. When Carmela returns, she rebels against the transformations Chala and her class have been subjected to. The relationship between the veteran teacher and the boy grows stronger, but this mutual commitment will jeopardize their continuance at the school.
