PARENTAL GUIDANCE movie review

Story: Grandparents Artie and Diane Decker are asked by their daughter to take care of the grandchildren they haven't seen in almost a year.

Review: This is a very good comedy to see this year. It brings back comedy legends Billy Crystal and Bette Midler to the movie screens. Billy Crystal is known to do stand up comedy acts and I would not be surprise if the scenes he has are impromptu. The idea of Parental Guidance came to Crystal because he cites his experiences as a grandparent. It is not surprising that he still has what it takes to do comedy movies. In other project, he is reprising his voice role as Mike Wazowski in Disney/Pixar's Monsters University.

Bette Midler is the best choice to do a tandem comedy with Billy Crystal. She is just as witty. Also bridging the generation gap in comedy is Marisa Tomei. Marisa Tomei has share in romantic comedies before. The kids are also an asset in this comedy. They showed potential in future projects. One of the kids, Bailee Madison had her first break in her previous movie, Just Go With It starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

They combined witty comedy with some slapstick which makes it interesting. But it is also a family movie. There are also family lessons that can be learned from the movie about the generation gap and second chances. Parental Guidance is now showing in Philippine cinemas and is brought to you by Twentieth Century Fox.
