There had never been this kind of quality films recently that make you feel good after watching a movie. What makes this movie unique from Hollywood blockbusters is that it is not big budgeted even though it was produced by Walt Disney Pictures.

The story itself can be relevant to everyone. In a context of a Filipino, this kind of story would exist in a drama series. I last saw Chris in an action flick about stopping a runaway train in Unstoppable. Before that, he was James T. Kirk in the new Star Trek movie. When he was still unknown to me, he was in Princess Diaries 2. It just proves that Pine can do different kind of movies.

This movie gathered a good cast consist of Michelle Pfeiffer Olivia Wilde, Phillip Baker Hall and Elizabeth Banks. But what impressed me was the performance of Michael Hall D'Addario, who played Josh, the son of Frankie. He was able to blend in with the adult cast like a grown-up. I see a lot of potential from this young actor in the future.

This movie may be about family but it is not for the whole family to watch even if it's a Walt Disney film. But there are lessons that can be drawn here for the adults to appreciate. Watch People Like Us Exclusively at Ayala Cinemas.
