Runner Runner movie review

Story: A grad student gambles with his life when he is seduced by the immense wealth promised by an online gambling tycoon.

Review: The internet is probably the best innovation invented that changed the world. Almost all benefited from the service of the internet. This also includes online gambling. This movie is the modern version of gangster genre. Sometimes, you can't separate gangsters from gambling in the movies.

 

Justine Timberlake proved once again that he is gaining box-office recognition. He knows how to select a good movie just like his previous works, In Time and Friends With Benefits which one of my favorites.

 

One thing to look forward to is the two actors who will have upcoming comic book incarnations. Recently, I announced in my other blog that Ben Affleck will takeover as Batman in Man Of Steel sequel. He plays online gambling lord Ivan Block. Anthony Mackie plays FBI agent Shavers. Mackie will make his superhero debut as the winged Avenger named Falcon in Captain America: Winter Soldier. It's a good start to follow up Anthony Mackie's career from now on.

 

Besides them, it is also an addition to see a femme fatale like Gemma Arterton here. She was Io from Clash Of The Titans, Gretel from Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Runner Runner is released by Twentieth Century Fox and distributed by Warner Bros. Phils.
